What is the program?This program teaches you the scientific methods and principles related to preventing, correcting and reducing damage to the environment. What will I learn?You’ll get a scientific perspective on Earth’s environmental issues and an understanding of the relationship between human populations and the planet’s natural systems. You’ll learn how to apply the scientific method to environmental problems and understand how ecological and social systems interact. You’ll be able to observe, collect and analyze data using basic principles of biology and chemistry. |
What can I do with this course of study?This program prepares you for entry-level positions in the field of environmental science or to continue your studies in the field at a four-year institution. You’ll have a foundation to pursue related fields including biology, chemistry, politics and economics. This program creates a pathway to careers including environmental consultant, science teacher, natural resource conservation specialist, environmental advocate, resource management specialist and environmental lab technician. What's special about the program?This is a multidisciplinary program that incorporates the natural sciences. It’s designed to give students the basic skills to apply the scientific method while studying and solving environmental problems such as climate change, water pollution, waste disposal, habitat loss and more. |
